Michael Beach is Associate Director for Healthy Water in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases and Deputy Director of the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases. He has worked at CDC since 1989 and oversees the Center's waterborne disease prevention activities including waterborne disease outbreak investigations and national surveillance for waterborne disease outbreaks, giardiasis, cryptosporidiosis, and free-living amebae. He created CDC's Healthy Swimming and Healthy Water Programs and co-founded the Model Aquatic Health Code effort where he was a Steering Committee member through its entire development.
