Kayla Esschert, MPH is an ORISE Fellow working for CDC's Healthy Swimming Program to prevent illness and injury associated with recreational water through epidemiology, policy, and communications. She received her Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Epidemiology from University of Michigan. Prior to working at CDC, Kayla worked as an epidemiologist at Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for several years and focused her work on maternal/infant health and suicide prevention.
