Sue Hopper is a Mechanical Engineer in the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) Department, a division of Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, at Michigan State University since 1999. She has also been the lead designer on MSU Faculty Readiness Project Initiative since its inception. For Faculty Readiness Projects, Sue manages the design scope and schedule including consultant oversight, project budget development and communication plan. 

Sue’s duties also include oversight and design review of mechanical consultants on Major, Minor and PO projects. She is in charge of Fire Protection, Plumbing and Mechanical Divisions of the Michigan State University Standards of Construction. Before coming to Michigan State University, she had seven years of experience as a mechanical engineer at consulting (A/E and MEP) firms in Michigan and Colorado.

 Sue is a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in the State of Michigan and has a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Michigan State University. She is a member of the ASHRAE and is a LEED Accredited Professional and passed the Certified Educational Facilities Planner Exam through APPA.
