Personal Protective Equipment

Pool and spa professionals are exposed to hazards which put them at risk from the top of their body to the bottom. They work on their feet and with their hands; some work is performed in confined spaces and some professionals may even weld, cut, or braze and need protection for that work. Protection for these hazards and more will be covered in seven PPE sections: Personal Protective Equipment Fundamentals, Eye and Face Protection, Foot Protection, Hand Protection, Head Protection, Hearing Protection, and Respiratory Protection.

The PPE Online Course accomplishes the following objectives, while the online format allows students to learn at their own pace:

  • Demonstrate how to determine what personal protective equipment is required to perform a particular job
  • Identify the need to inspect personal protective equipment for defects before donning and replace as needed
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the need to wear personal protective equipment as it was designed to be worn

Successful completion of this 2-hour online course earns a Record of Completion. IACET CEUs are not available for this course.
