PSP Expo Gives Back to the Industry by Driving Awareness to Three Aquatics-Related Non-Profit Organizations

The International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo works with World of Recreational Water launched by APSP, NSPF’s Step into Swim™, and Water for a Warrior.

August 24, 2016—(New Orleans, LA)—The International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo has selected three non-profit organizations to help boost awareness and drive donations in their continued effort to give back to the industry. This year’s group of non-profits consist of World of Recreational Water Foundation® in collaboration with The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP), the National Swimming Pool Foundation’s Step into Swim Campaign™, and Water for a Warrior. Donations are accepted online or during registration for the PSP Expo, and attendees may meet with each participating organization at the expo, which will be held Nov. 2-4, 2016 in New Orleans, LA.

“Many pool and spa professionals reap the educational and fiscal benefits of attending the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo,” said Tracy Garcia, CEM, Show Director for Informa Exhibitions, owner of the expo. “This is our way of giving back and encouraging attendees and exhibitors to do the same. The work these three groups do is admirable—encouraging sustainability, industry growth, and assisting our veterans.”

The World of Recreational Water Foundation (WRW) recognizes that without water there would be no pools or hot tubs. And now increasingly, the world is viewing water as its most priceless and finite resource.  To protect the use of water for pools and hot tubs, the WRW works to develop water conservation and energy efficiency standards and technology; helps educate the public on pool and hot tub usage during droughts; supports research; and awards grant monies to defend and promote the sustainable use of recreational water. Donations to the WRW help ensure that current and future generations will be able to fully experience the enjoyment and health benefits of recreational water.

NSPF’s Step into Swim Program™ is a 10-year initiative to generate one million new swimmers. Donations directly benefit leading learn-to-swim organizations to train the next generation of swimmers. Step into Swim™ also promotes the recreational and health benefits associated with swimming to further drive growth of the aquatics industry.

New to the line-up of non-profit organizations that the PSP Expo supports, is Water for a Warrior (WFAW).  WFAW honors the sacrifices that veterans have made for us.   WFAW selects at least one combat wounded veteran each year to be the benefactor of a swimming pool to aid in their therapy, recovery, and fitness. Donations help WFAW provide products and services including pools, hot tubs, accessories (rails lifts, etc.), orientations, maintenance, and more. The 2017 recipients of Water for a Warrior will be announced during PSP Expo’s Pool Prize Party on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:00PM.
