Blue Wave CPO Course

Colorado Springs, COLORADO, December 11, 2018­—As part of a broader pool safety initiative, the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut has begun offering free Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) Certification courses for local pool operators. Using funds from a Pool Safely grant from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the certifications will bolster the expertise of local professionals in a state that currently has no certification requirement for pool operators. Blue Wave Pool Service and Supplies, Inc. (Blue Wave) will conduct the courses, which run through the middle of 2020.

The National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF) has announced the election of a new President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of its Board of Directors. Additionally, in January 2019 Michelle Kavanaugh will assume the role of Executive Director of The Pool Spa & Aquatics Alliance (The Alliance) and The California Pool & Spa Association (CPSA). NSPF has named Andrew Roberts as its new Mission Development Manager.

The National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®) has awarded $12,000 in scholarships and $4,000 in fellowships for 2018. Each year, NSPF provides scholarships and fellowships that support both pioneering research in the field of aquatics and the continued education of young aquatics professionals or their immediate family members. This year’s recipients represent some of the brightest and most promising applicants in a competitive pool.

Colorado Springs, COLORADO, August 1, 2018—The National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®), a Colorado Springs non-profit organization, has released a position statement recommending that all state, territory, and local health departments; aquatic facilities; and the industry at large evaluate and adopt all or part of the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC), with the objective of protecting the future of aquatic facilities and their staff and patrons.
