As a Facility Director or Manager you are always looking to improve and upgrade existing programs. The Swimming Team, like many programs, grew out of a need for growth. Today, the Swimming Team at every facility is as unique as the pools themselves. When evaluating your swim team or the possibility of having one, you need to draw from your experience and the experience of others but stand fi rmly on the organizational goals, direction and operation Swimming Teams are one of the best programs you can have or they can be your biggest headache. We will explore the best way to evaluate the Swimming Team that exists in your facility. The three areas we will explore are the business of the team, the operation of the team and the value of the team. The goal of the session is to give you greater tools to better evaluate your total program by detailing one of its most unique parts.

Everett is the owner of EKU Gold, a performance consulting company that provides detailed assessments of achievement goals for individuals, sports teams and businesses. He is also the Aquatics Director at the Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. This property has four pools, one is a seven lane 50 meter pool and another is a six lane 25 yard pool along with four hot tubs and a 35 acre lake.

His aquatics background includes eight years at USA Swimming working in the National Team Division first as a coordinator than as the division director. He has served on two US Olympic team staffs (2004 Athens, Greece and 2000 Sydney, Australia) and numerous international and domestic competitions including World Championships, Pan American Games and World University Games.

Prior to his arrival at USA Swimming, Everett coached in the Southern California area for over 20 years on the club, high school and collegiate levels. He has coached two US Olympians, numerous NCAA and High School All-Americans and Olympic Trial qualifiers.

Everett has a B.A. in Physical Education and Master’s Degree in Education. He is a CPO, AFO and a Certified Aquatics Administrator. He is married and has two children
